democracyGPS is a non-profit and non-partisan organization developing new ways to persuade politicians to represent voters better
Our current campaign:
finding common ground on assault weapons
-
Feel like Congress can't agree on anything? You are not alone. Congress is more divided than voters are, and it is getting more divided.
For example, it seems that some politicians want all guns banned, and others think guns should never be regulated.
Some of us may believe in these more extreme positions, but many of us believe in compromises that can, for example, decrease injuries and deaths from gun violence.
How can we convince Congress to compromise? One way is by working together to find compromises we all can support and sharing with Congress and other voters.
How can I help? By clicking below, answering a few questions, and sharing with your friends and family.

At democracyGPS,
We have simple survey tools to gather your views, along with those of many others, to find common ground.
Unlike traditional polling, our tools enable others to vote on your statements and opinions.
We give you tools to quickly send messages to Congress, encouraging them to consider the ideas that many people agree on.
To begin, we are focusing on thoughts about assault weapons, and we will soon expand to other important questions.
-
Today, you can:
Share Your Thoughts: Take a moment to answer 10 easy questions about your feelings on assault weapons. Whether you are for or against restrictions, we really want to know what you think.
Talk About Your Concerns: Are there other political topics you are worried about? Let us know! We plan to tackle other important questions soon.
Tell Us About You: Answering a few simple questions about yourself helps us ensure that what we learn truly represents all kinds of Americans, not just a select few.
Spread the Word: Sharing our platform helps amplify fair and inclusive conversations. Let's encourage more people to join in to find common ground!
-
In the coming weeks:
We will share the common points of agreement found between you and other voters as widely as we can.
We'll help you send your messages to Congress, either privately or for everyone to see.
You can join newer discussions and continue helping to find agreement on other questions.
Together, we will help better laws to be written and passed faster.
